El Paso city leaders approve multimillion dollar project for improved pedestrian and cyclist connectivity on east side

EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) — The city of El Paso is looking to improve connectivity and transportation, specifically on the east side.
City Leaders approved an advanced funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the McRae shared use path.
The path will bring landscaping, lighting, pedestrian improvements to intersections, ADA ramps, and striping for the streets.
“One of the major components of this project is try to improve connectivity for not only for pedestrians, but for cyclists as well," the city’s Capital Project Manager, Ismael Cepeda, said.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock police say a bicycle rider is being treated for serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the area of 62nd and Frankford Avenue around 4:15 p.m.
CORRECTION: Initial reports indicated a child was injured, but police say the rider was an adult.

This season offers a 5 race series, with a total of 7 races being held. Two regular season races will host both conferences (conference will have separate fields for each category), two races will host only the North conference, and two races will host only the South conference. This will give each conference four regular season conference races. The final championship race will host both conferences and conferences will be combined into one field.

Army Corps pushes back planned Benbrook Lake bike trail closure to early 2024
