Bicyclist critically injured in accident with tractor-trailer, Fort Worth police say

A bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer Friday morning in Fort Worth’s Far Northwest neighborhood, police said. Officers were dispatched to the 13000 block of Saginaw Boulevard shortly before 5 a.m. regarding a major accident, police said. The victim, a man, had been riding a bike in a public roadway when he was hit by the tractor-trailer. The bicycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, officials said. Traffic Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the accident. It’s not clear if the truck driver will face charges in connection with the crash.

FORT WORTH, Texas – A Fort Worth bicyclist is in critical condition after a crash with a tractor trailer early Friday morning.
Fort Worth police say that the adult man was riding his bike on Saginaw Boulevard, not far from Avondale-Haslet Road in north Fort Worth when he was hit by a tractor trailer.
The man was taken to Harris Hospital in Downtown Fort Worth in critical condition.
The rider’s name has not been released at this time.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The number of cyclist fatalities are on track to double in Houston compared to what we saw last year. Pedestrian deaths are also on the rise compared to 2022.
