Triple Saddle Switch. Presta Valve Core Issue. Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman
Yesterday evening I decided to perform a triple saddle switch for some reason. I think it centered around moving the Cervelo Road saddle from my Canyon Endurace to the Cervelo Caledonia but this meant switching the saddle on the Lynskey Helix bike as well. Now the Cervelo Caledonia has it’s original saddle, the Canyon Endurace the Velo Senso TT+ saddle and the Lynskey Helix the Fizik saddle. Whew!
The bike for today’s ride was my Cervelo Caledonia. As I was getting ready to walk out and start the ride I squeezed the tires and they felt a little soft so I took time to air them up. The front tire has a removable Presta valve core and as I removed the pump chuck it unscrewed letting some of the air I just put in out. I tightened the valve core and aired up the tire again and this time no problem removing the pump chuck. No problem airing the rear tire. All of this delayed the ride start a few minutes moving away at 8:49 AM.
Earlier this morning I checked SportTracks to see when I last rode the Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman route and learned it was June 22nd on my Canyon Endurace bike. That was the route today. I didn’t ride the exact same streets changing the first 8/10’s of a mile to mostly greenbelt trail but after that it was mostly the same. Nothing out of the ordinary during the ride. My legs were slower than yesterday and it took awhile to get my overall average speed above 13 mph.
Hot weather continued but the air had a cooling effect rather than making it feel hotter. Maybe the combination of humidity and dew point contributed to that but it felt good. Weather conditions: Start 86 degrees, 75% humidity, dew point 76.9, partly cloudy, wind calm; Finish 92 degrees, 52% humidity, dew point 71.5, partly cloudy, wind SE 6 mph. I finished at 11:50 AM.
