Heat Lets Up For Sunday Ride. 7th Consecutive 200+ Mile Week
Today was the first Sunday bike ride in July. I rolled away at 1:21 PM after getting home from church. The temperature hovered around 90 degrees for a change and the wind was barely moving at 3 mph. My week mileage stood at just over 217 so I wanted to bike at least 13 miles to close out the week. I exceeded that goal by almost 5 miles with 17.97 miles. The ride stayed in Kingwood following streets and trails. The last time I did that was June 11th aboard the same bike, my Lynskey Helix. In fact, according to SportTracks all of the rides on the Kingwood Streets & Trails route has been on a Lynskey since 2021. Weather for today’s ride: Start 91 degrees, 59% humidity, dew point 74.3, partly cloudy, wind 3 mph; Finish 94 degrees, dew point 73.4, partly cloudy, wind 4 mph.
I rode each day this week finishing before the extreme heat each day except for today. Only 78 more miles to reach my 800 mile goal for the month. I rode the Canyon Endurace 3 times, the Cervelo Caledonia 2 days, and the Lynskey Helix 2 days. The average ride was 33.6 miles.
