Canyon Endurace CF 7 First Ride On Spring Creek Greenway
The last time I rode on the Spring Creek Greenway was May 3rd and today was time to ride there again. I began the ride at 8:50 AM delayed a few minutes to air up the tires on my Canyon Endurace CF7 bike. Early this morning while checking Twitter I learned that Gino Mader died from a crash yesterday at the Tour de Suisse and I offer prayers to his family, team mates at Bahrain Victorius, and friends.
My plan was to ride to John Pundt Park with a side trip on Treschwig Road at the Carter Park trailhead and Spring Creek Drive at John Pundt Park. These added over a mile to the total miles. Previously the average distance has been 43 miles. Today I biked 42.95 miles. This week’s biking totals 189.45 miles setting up a 200+ mile week on tomorrow’s bike ride.
I saw other cyclists on the greenway, some are in the video. The shade helped to offset the temperature. I stopped at John Pundt Park for a short break and again after the up hill climb on the bridge leaving Jesse Jones parking lot. The breeze felt good and I forced myself to get back on the bike to finish the bike ride. On the way back to Kingwood I rode the San Jacinto Bayou Greenway.
Weather during the ride: Start 85 degrees, 79% humidity, dew point 77.6, mostly cloudy with haze, wind E 8 mph; Finish 94 degrees, 62% humidity, dew point 79.1, partly cloudy, wind S 14 mph gusts 24 mph.
These first two photos are on the Bevill Jerald Bridge on the way to the trailhead. The third photo was at John Pundt Park where I stopped for a break.
