Hard Hats for Little Heads was back at Texas A&M’s Reed Arena and excitement was not in short supply.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Thousands of second-graders from the Brazos Valley attended Hard Hats for Little Heads on Monday, April 17. The event promotes child safety by wearing a helmet.
It included relay races and presentations by Texas A&M student-athletes to show the importance of preventing head injuries.

Williams brothers launch new city-based team in Austin, Texas

The co-ed Austin Aviators join the domestic racing scene as the third team to come from L39ion of Los Angeles founders
Brothers Justin and Cory Williams have announced the launch of the city-based team, the Austin Aviators, which made its official debut at the Redlands Bicycle Classics this past weekend.
This is the third teams under the Williams Racing Development umbrella, joining the successful L39ion of Los Angeles and the Miami Blazers.
Austin has become a cycling hub in Texas with a prominent cycling community and now a professional team. The team will be racing the largest criteriums in the country including Tulsa Tough and Elite Nationals aboard Vitus bikes.

More steep hills: Rolling-Wood to Johnson City
Monday April 17, 2023, 38 miles (61 km) – Total so far: 1,596 miles (2,569 km) I guess that I still don’t have my climbing legs yet since I only did 38 miles today with about 2500 feet of climbing. I know that I can do more and I’m not going to make any excuses. I just didn’t feel very strong today. I slept and ate well last evening and have been hydrating well. I will admit that I have a minor heart condition and it has flared up in the past few days. The heart condition is not life threatening and I have lived with it for years. The recent string of strenuous exercise has aggravated it, so I may take it a bit easier and do shorter days while in these steep hills. I can still move forward. Health first!
Since I had to go a bit off course in Austin to get to a hotel, that put me in a LOT of traffic and a major construction area for the first 4 miles as I went west. It was a bit hair raising and I used all my skills to get through there as safe as possible. It sure was nice to see the …
