Paceline Through Porter Before My Bike Ride
This morning while I was out running an errand on Loop 494 I saw a group of about a dozen cyclists riding north. One of the beauties of a pack is the various jerseys everyone is wearing. This was a colorful group setting a strong pace, determined to get where they were going.
After seeing the croup of cyclists I went home and got ready for my bike ride. I went the opposite direction to the south and east on my Atascocita – Walden – Huffman route. I rode my Lynskey Helix bike which I aired up the tires to about 80 psi before I started at 10:39 AM. The ride was firm but rolled nicely. I think back to when I kept my tire pressure at 100 psi and the super firm ride that must’ve been. I added the short loop to Spanish Cove Drive to lengthen the ride a little compared to Tuesday’s ride coming in at 35.16 miles today. I finished at 1:35 PM.
The weather continued to be warm for November but that will come to an end by Saturday. Zwift released some new routes just time for chilly weather arriving in SE Texas. I didn’t wear arm sleeves for a change because the temperature was in the 70’s and to add some tan. Weather for the bike ride: start 78 (humidity 70%, dew point 67), partly cloudy, wind SE 9 mph; finish 79 (humidity 64%, dew point 66), mostly cloudy, wind SE 6 mph. Wind wasn’t much a problem for the ride.
Workers were pouring concrete on FM 1960 at Atascocita Shores Drive. My days riding between the barriers might be ending soon.
