Exploring Lilliput Farms And Tavola
On today’s bike ride I went exploring. I rolled out at 10:09 AM riding my Cervelo Caledonia bike. I chose my New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch route but made some changes. I changed the first mile intro through Hunters Ridge Village, in Tavola I rode south on Gran Roble through a new section with homes under construction and the streets new enough to not show up on my Bolt computer map. After exiting Tavola biking west on Roman Forest Blvd. I turned right at the Shell station to ride through Lilliput Farms. I rode into Lilliput Farms a few years ago when there were just model homes but last week I learned that the streets connected to Sycamore Street in Woodbranch Village which Lilliput Farms is part of. I could’ve turned right on Sycamore Drive but I went left and looped around and back into Lilliput Farms and returned to Roman Forest Blvd. I could’ve turned right onto North Linnwood Drive and made my way to Railroad Ave. That would also get me to Roman Forest Blvd. A bunch of streets I’ve never biked before. These added a little distance to the route above the average of 35 to 36 miles of the previous 13 times I biked it this year. Today I rode 38.82 miles. My Cervelo Caledonia now has 5,032 miles on it since bought it in February.
I waited a little for the temperature to get into the 70’s by doing some yard work and eating breakfast. At the start the wind was from the N at 4 mph but when I finished at 1:17 PM it had increased to 12 mph with 17 mph gusts which accounts for the extra effort I had to put out on the way back whenever I rode into the headwind. Lots of sunshine for a fall day. Weather conditions: start 77 (humidity 64%, dew point 64), fair, wind N 4 mph; finish 84 (humidity 38%, dew point 56), a few clouds, wind E 12 mph gusts 17 mph.
