HH100: Finish Line Village prepared to celebrate cyclists

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Another longstanding tradition of Hotter’N Hell Hundred Weekend is the Finish Line Village.
Much like the Consumer Show, it’s another venue where vendors offer a variety of culinary delights and cycling-related products throughout the day, but the Village is outdoors.

IOWA PARK (KFDX/KJTL) — Crews were called out to a bicycle crash along the route of the 41st annual Hotter’n Hell bike race Saturday Morning.
Racers became entangled when it looks like one racer crashed and nearby riders were unable to stop.
The crash happened on S. Colorado Street in Iowa Park around 7:50 a.m. and was captured on a resident’s Ring Doorbell camera. …

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The party kicked off on Scott Avenue for the 41st Annual Hotter’N Hell 100 early Saturday morning.
Riders of all ages gathered at the starting line and finished at the Finish Line Village. For Gustavo Carrillo, this is his second year riding, and he says he enjoyed the ride and can’t wait for next year.

Austin non-profit donates free bikes and helmets to Uvalde students

UVALDE, Texas – Operation Get Out handed out bikes and helmets to the Uvalde Community earlier Saturday morning.
The organization funded over 800 bikes, helmets, and other gear for the kids in Uvalde at Winter Garden Produce.
“Operation Get Out is a non-profit organization out of Austin, Texas that provides equipment, resources, and events for individuals and agencies who have gone through trauma, stress, loss, or grief. We provide the equipment so they can get out on nature and water! Two months ago, we were planning and said what about Uvalde? Would they embrace it? Would they need it? A bike is a great tool to Get Out, Get Active, and Get Connected for positive mental and emotional wellness impact.” said Cindy Present.

AUTO VS BICYCLE CRASH

Just after 8pm Porter Fire was dispatched to a reported auto vs bicycle. Units arrived on the scene to find a female bicyclist on the ground with a head injury. According to witnesses, the driver was westbound on FM 1314 at the traffic light ai I-69. As the light changed and he started to proceed through the intersection, the female who was southbound rode directly in front of him ignoring the no-walk signal at the intersection. She was transported to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition by MCHD.
