Met My Goal For May. Different Month of Rides
After a day of no bike racing to watch while I ate breakfast today GCN+ streamed the Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes from France. It ended early enough for me to get ready and start today’s bike ride at 9:38 AM. Riding my Cervelo Caledonia I set off on my “Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman” for the first time this year. I did not realize this was the first time but it won’t be the last. The weather was pleasant but windy at the start by the time I finished at 12:23 PM the wind died down some. Getting to the FM 2100 turning point meant biking into a headwind most of the time. My legs were up to that today.
The distance today came in at 35.56 miles, about usual for this route. This closed out the month with 780.08 miles. Not bad considering I didn’t ride 7 days while I drove to and back from Florida. My goal was 700 miles. This increases in June to 800 miles.
Weather for today’s bike ride: start 82 (humidity 78%, dew point 75), partly cloudy, wind SE 16 mph; finish 89 (humidity 65%, dew point 75), mostly cloudy, wind S 9 mph.
Riding the Cervelo Caledonia the gearing returned to what I am used to. The AXS.SRAM.com ride report data is interesting. Overall riding time: 2:42:43. 27 RD shifts. 1:22:08 biking in the 35×13 gears (20.4 miles) and 58:47 using the 35×15 gears (11.1 miles). I sent an email to Lynskey asking how they can fix the crankset mistake on the Lynskey Helix bike but no response yet.
With May ending the graph below shows the year progressions since 2010 for YTD miles as of May 31st. 2022 trails 2021 and 2020 but leads the other years.
Strava told me today’s ride was was harder than your usual effort.
