San Antonio cyclists honor fallen riders with Ride of Silence

As of May, three cyclists deaths have been reported in the San Antonio area
San Antonio cyclists joined in a silent ride through the streets of downtown on Wednesday, May 18, for the annual Ride of Silence, a global cycling protest that honors those killed on the road. Ride of Silence, a nationwide ride, occurs every year on the third Wednesday of National Bike Month (May).
Jeff Moore, an avid cycler, who helms a weekly city-wide ride, has organized San Antonio’s Ride of Silence for the past seven years wants to call attention to the city’s cycling problem. As of June, three cyclists have been killed by drivers on San Antonio roads.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Wichita Falls Police say that a woman died after being hit by a pickup truck while bicycling on Southwest Parkway Thursday morning.
The crash was reported at 7:41 am at Southwest Parkway and Sisk Road.
