Kingwood Streets With Sprinkles
Today’s bike ride ended the week and began a new month. I rolled out at 1:52 PM after getting home from church and watching the endings of the Tour de Romandie and the women’s Festival Elsy Jacobs. After the ride I watched the last 50 km of Eschborn-Frankfurt. Lots of racing going on. Tomorrow no racing. Riding my Lynskey R300 bike on Kingwood Streets I covered 21.39 miles by the time I finished at 3:35 PM. My week ended with 235.12 miles the 7th week in a row at 200+ miles. This was the 7 time biking this route this year and the longest.
The weather concerned me with some dark clouds and thunder in the distance. Around the 12 mile point it started sprinkling intermittently, never enough to get me wet but splashing on the Bolt computer screen. The temperature cooled a few degrees as I rode and the wind picked though with all of the trees it didn’t feel as strong as the airport station showed. Weather for the bike ride: start 86 (humidity 66%, dew point 74), mostly cloudy, wind SE 12 mph; finish 82 (humidity 74%, dew point 73), mostly cloudy with sprinkles, wind E 13 mph gusts 24 mph. I hoped I wouldn’t ride in the rain like I did last Monday.
I saw a number of people out riding their bikes. Several young boys had fishing gear with them.
During the week I rode the Cervelo Caledonia 5 times and the Lynskey R300 2 times. I rode in the rain on Monday the first rain ride for the Cervelo. I waxed the Cervelo’s chain. The Lynskey went 58.11 miles and the Cervelo 177.01 miles. The Cervelo now has 1587 miles and the Lynskey 6961.
