Blue Sky, Light Wind, 70’s. What More To Ask For?
For Wednesday’s bike ride I chose the “Kingwood – SH 242 – Kingwood” route going north. After watching a tight finish of stage 1 of the Tour de Romandie I was ready for a good bike ride. Before leaving I did a couple of yard chores and then got dressed. I thought it is was a little chilly so I wore shorts, a long sleeve T-shirt, and a short sleeve jersey. This was one of the few kits where I have matching shorts and jersey. You can see them in the video.
Wheels down on my Lynskey R300 bike at 11:20 AM and finishing at 2:02 PM. I biked 36.71 miles per Strava’s calculation improving the week’s mileage to 105.44 miles setting up a potential 200+ mile week. April totals 884.8 miles, well over my 650 mile goal. If I add the one Zwift ride in April the total goes up to 906.64 miles. YTD I biked 2193.2 road miles plus 679.9 Zwift miles.
Today was the third bike ride on this route in 2022. Below shows how the rides compare.
Weather: start 74 (humidity 47%, dew point 53), a few clouds, wind E 9 mph; finish 78 (humidity 49%, dew point 58), fair, wind SE 10 mph. Space City Weather thinks today might be the last spring like day with “summer lite” coming tomorrow. The light wind was a welcomed change for my legs. I was able to get my average speed up to 14.6 mph on the return to Kingwood.
No AXS.SRAM.com ride report since I rode the Lynskey R300. I forgot to include the link in yesterday’s ride post.
