New Asphalt At Spring Creek Greenway. Mike’s New Bike Day
I managed to start today’s bike a little earlier than yesterday with the Lynskey R300 wheels down and rolling at 12:17 PM. Weather conditions were similar to yesterday with 76 degrees, mostly cloudy and a light SE 8 mph wind. There wasn’t much change when I finished at 2:37 PM except the cloud cover thickened. I rode to Jesse Jones Park on the Spring Creek Greenway, circling the parking lot area by the trailhead to go to Carter Park and beyond. In the parking lot I saw new asphalt and rode on it to see where it went. The signs give me the impression the trails are for walking not biking. Some of the branches included boardwalks. The video shows some of the new trails. I did not ride on the greenway in November. There was a notice at the entrance to the greenway to Carter Park that the trail would be closed at the 8 mile to 8.5 mile sections starting December 29th to January 20th. Those are estimated dates.
This was the 4th bike ride this year on this section of the greenway. I added some miles to the end of the ride going to HEB to pickup an item. This pushed the distance to 28.21 versus around 24 miles on the other rides. My week now totals 158.61 miles, not too far from a 200 mile week if I bike Saturday and Sunday. I don’t think I’ve done a 200 mile week in December before.
One of my YouTube channel subscribers got his new Lynskey R300 bike yesterday. He sent me some photos. I hope he was able to ride today. New Bike Day!! There are at least 2 Lynskey R300 bikes in Texas. Mike’s has fancy Ultegra DI2 electronic shifting and etched graphics.
I lost the local legend on one Strava segment but notched some personal records on the ride.
