Humidity Returns, No Local Legend Segments
Before today’s bike ride I looked at a previous ride on the route to see if any Strava Local Legends showed up. I looked at a couple of segments but didn’t see any local legends. The bike ride went north to Tavola, back to US59 and south through Valley Ranch, Oakhurst before returning to Kingwood. I call this my “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route. To add a little distance I rode some streets at the beginning of the ride that I’ve been skipping when going to the north. The distance came in at 36.32 miles. This was the 2nd longest ride on this route in 2021 out of the 15 times I’ve done it. My week now totals 110.71 miles and I’m only 17 miles away from reaching my 625 mile goal for October. I started at 11:02 AM and finished at 1:51 PM.
The new ICAN Cycling Alpha-50 Disc wheels continue to please me. I can ride at a higher pace than with the Vision 30 wheels they replaced on my Lynskey R300 I rode today. Maybe the “new bike gear” distortion effect is still over me.
As the week progresses the cooler temperatures are gone. Today the humidity was higher than the starting temperature. No long sleeve jersey needed, back to arm sleeves and a short sleeve jersey. Weather conditions: start 77 (81% humidity, 71 dew point), overcast, wind E 8 mph; finish 84 (69% humidity, 72 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind variable 5 mph.
