Day 25: Lost Maples to Ingram, 2443’ of climbing, 3:43 hrs in the saddle. Half way point Wednesday October 13, 2021, 44 miles (71 km) – Total so far: 1,283 miles (2,065 km) Before I start, wanted to say we lost a rider today. Larry from Loveland called it quits and got a ride to Austin to fly home today. He wasn’t happy for the past couple of days, especially when the rain started. He Saged yesterday. When I saw his bike on the van today, I asked him he was giving it one more day – said he was. When we got to camp found out he left. I know this feeling so I’m not judging him, been there before when I quit 4 years ago. I learned that I couldn’t do this ride solo, just too lonely. Walk or cycle at location of your choice during Feburary, Heart Health Month!
Log walking or cycling miles and watch for your name on the Leaderboard.
If you prefer to walk or cycle INSIDE, the YMCA of Wichita Falls will be open to all Hearts on the Move participants on all weekends in February.
Wellness screenings will be offered on Saturdays (Feb 12, 19, & 26) at URPG at 4327 Barnett Rd. Appointments can be made for your screening at packet pickup.
Packet pickup for all registered by Jan. 14 will be at the United Regional Foundation office, 1600 13th St, on Fri Jan 28 (7:30am-5:30pm). For those registering after Jan 14, packet pickup will be on Tues Feb 8 (7:30am-5:30pm).
