Furious cyclists call for arrest, alleging teen driver menaced them before crash that injured 6
Dug Begley | www.houstonchronicle.com
Suspicion that a Waller County teen who plowed into six cyclists on a weekend training ride was menacing them has area bike riders furious, arguing that the consequence-free way to kill someone in Texas is to do it with a car.
“It is clear that the cycling community is feeling threatened and that there is nobody looking out for them in Waller County,†said Joe Cutrufo, executive director of the advocacy group BikeHouston.
Dozens of people were on a training ride Saturday along U.S. 290 Business about two miles west of downtown Waller, but within city limits, when a …

Atomic TT Series Sat 25th September
Several riders were able to improve on current fastest times or score a podium most notably Chris Gibbons who finished 3rd of the Cat 3 Men, Ty Annoura who ended up 2nd in the Junior Boys event and Tracy Jones-Martin who’s 500m time moved her into 2nd in the women’s elite and 40+ events.
I would like to extend a big thankyou to Andy Weather of Atomic for his sponsorship, Cyndi, Mike & Jim for officiating and all the volunteers who helped make this series a great success!
Track Records Several track records were broken on the final day of the Atomic TT’s. Firstly Koh Annoura broke the M55+ F200 (11.49 – Using his massive Sprint King Chainring!) and the M55+ 500m TT (35.35) before Andy Weathers bettered his own Men’s Elite 500m TT record (34.65).
Both the 2 person team sprint records then fell, first Koh & Ty Annoura then teamed up to clock 50.38 before Jen Wagner and Tracy Jones-Martin recorded 49.58.
Rider of the Year Competition Gabi St Clair (Jr Girls) and Darby Deming (M3) secured RoY victories this weekend! Our other confirmed RoY winners are: Elite Women – Paige Zizka W40+ – Tracy Jones-Martin Jr. Boys – Elijah Allison W3 – Clare Gardner
Women Cat 4 Zaira Estrada goes to the final FNR needing 3rd place or better to win RoY. If she finishes outside the top 3 it opens the door for either Gabi St. Clair or Marissa Marsh to overtake her.
Men Cat 4 Sebastian Bech is leading Robin Carrera by 5 points, both are tied in FNR rankings so it will come down to who does best in the final race unless they both finish outside the top 5 in which case a win from Marcos Reyes would give him the RoY.
Men 40+ Due to closest rival Veon McReynolds being away Robert Bodamer has all but secured this. Daan Kegel can mathematically win with help from David Roberts if Bodamer finished outside the top 4 M40 racers.
Elite Men Cason Hewgley just needs a podium finish to take the title, if he doesn’t Said Assali can overhaul him with either a win or if Cason fails to be in the top 6 2nd place will be enough. John Martin has a long shot of winning but requires Cason to finish outside the top 6 and Said to finish 3rd or worse.

“Immediately after harassing and running over six cyclists near Houston this past weekend, the teenager behind the wheel of the black truck had one thing on his mind, according to a witness: "Do you think I'm going to jail?"†https://t.co/j4YhLhtjth

SunCycle bike share is proud to feature Blaster's Para Nosotros (For Us) art bike. Blaster referenced iconic El Paso symbols painted on his mural onto his Barrio Bcycle. He combined low rider reds and the alligator greens with a recognizable sunset theme.
A teenage driver who was reportedly hassling cyclists by “rolling coal†ended up running over a group and injuring six of them:

Every cyclist I know – EVERY ONE – has had an experience where a diesel-driving truck dangerously overtakes you to blow diesel smoke into your face.

It's referred to as "rolling coal", and this time a 16-year-old kid nearly killed 6 people doing it. https://t.co/CeYd8FnvSn
