Badly Discolored Helmet, Welcome Back Humidity
The low humidity and dew point weather moved out leaving a muggy biking condition. My Lynskey R300 and I rolled away at 10:30 AM to follow the “New Caney – Roman Forest – Valley Ranch” route. In the video I guess the ride will be 39 or 40 miles long but it turned out to be 42.43 miles. Nice ride to start the week and boost September to 781.59 miles, further exceeding my 700 mile goal and getting close to the 802 miles I biked in September 2020. 6 times I biked this route in 2021. This time was a little more distance than the other 5 times. YTD 2021 still leads YTD 2020 with the gap at 298 miles (2021 totals 7,555 miles).
Weather: start 77 (81% humidity, 71 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind E 9 mph; finish 86 (63% humidity, 72 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind E 4 mph.
After the ride I rinsed the helmet straps on my Lazer Sphere MIPS and was surprised to see the red color was gone on the top of the helmet. Normally I don’t look at the top because I put the helmet upside down on the table I store it on. So I have no idea when this happened. I contacted CompetitiveCyclist.com where I bought it and am waiting to hear from the warranty department. I received the helmet March 2021.
