Midweek Out and Back to Tavola
Midway through the week I backed off on the bike ride mileage. I biked far enough to secure my goal for August. It all began at 9:08 AM as I rolled away on my Lynskey R300 bike on my “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route. By the 11:55 AM finished I covered 34.79 miles. This was slightly below the average distance of the 11 times on today’s route so far in 2021. So far I biked 127.59 miles this week putting in position to hit 200 miles for the week. I wasn’t the only biker out today as 2 others crossed my path.
Starting at this time of day the temperature was 87 degrees and the humidity was 70%. It didn’t take long for the sweat to start flowing. Ice water from my CamelBak came in handy. Wind was just barely moving not providing much of a cooling effect. Weather conditions: start 87 (70% humidity, 75.9 dew point), partly cloudy, wind N 5 mph; finish 90 (61% humidity, 74.4 dew point), partly cloudy, wind variable 4 mph.
I moved my new Lezyne rear light to the back of the seat bag to improve the visibility. I was concerned about it coming loose and looped the rubber seatpost band to the bag. Below the bag I think the light was partially blocked.
