Harris County study will determine feasibility of major greenspace expansion in northeast Houston

Harris County and the Houston Parks Board are studying the feasibility of creating a hike-and-bike trail system along Carpenters Bayou. The trail system would connect northeast Houston neighborhoods such as North Shore, Sheldon and Summerwood to regional parks and other destinations.
Harris County Precinct 1 hosted a virtual community meeting on Aug. 3 by to gain the necessary input they crave to fulfil their goals with the study. Originally scheduled for an in-person event, rising COVID-19 cases forced the meeting online to a smaller than hoped-for audience. …
