Officials say the driver who hit the bicyclist stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
According to HPD, the 25-year-old bicyclist was crossing the street in the 6200 block of Westheimer on a BMX-style bike when he was struck by a silver Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound. …

On Tuesday, August 10th at 5:30 PM the City of Navasota will host a Public Meeting in the Council Chambers at 200 E McAlpine St. to discuss and provide an update on the Navasota Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan and Map. This will be a chance for the public to provide input on the drafted Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan, which is the long range planning document determining the future of Navasota’s pedestrian-friendly walking paths, sidewalks, and bicycle transportation routes.

HealthCode and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department are calling on Austinites to step out and take action in September during the virtual activity challenge Fall into Action.
The goal of the virtual challenge is to engage individuals in setting physical activity goals and create new habits to support a healthy lifestyle. Participants can join as an individual or as an organization. Organizations can register at healthcode.org/organizations.
Participants can sign up on the Fall into Action registration page at healthcode.org/fallintoaction2021 and set a goal for the number of miles of activity to be achieved. The 40th Annual Hotter’N Hell Hundred is less than a month away. The event officially opens on Thursday, August 26th, and runs through Sunday, August 29th. You can be a part of this event even if you don’t ride a bike.
