Tour de Pools on Kingwood Greenbelt Trails
After church I started today’s bike ride at 1:29 PM biking the Kingwood Trails Tour de Pools. One of the features of the Kingwood greenbelts connects parks and pools without riding on streets. I rode by 8 different village pools on the Tour de Pools covering 17.46 miles. At River Grove Park I biked on the new to me greenway from last week but this time I followed the sharrows on the streets and found even more greenway segments all the way to Forest Cove Drive where the sharrows disappeared.
With today’s miles I finished the week with 236.75 miles, about 3 miles more than last week’s total. Better yet, I passed my 800 mile goal for July. I biked 24 out of 25 days so far, only missing July 9th due to rain all day.
Hot describes the weather. Starting late was a good reason to ride the greenbelt trails in some shade. I finished the bike ride at 3:08 PM. Weather summary for the ride: start 90 (58% humidity, 72.8 dew point), partly cloudy, wind variable 4 mph; finish 93 (50% humidity, 71.2 dew point), partly cloudy, wind S 5 mph. Not much wind which probably didn’t matter with all of the trees. Not many people out on the trails with the heat and air quality alert. The heat looks to be around for several days.
A number of accomplishments according to Strava.
