On Wednesday, July 14 University of Texas at Austin students participating in Texas 4000 for Cancer share stories on how cancer has impacted their personal lives and why they choose to get involved with the organization. They stayed overnight in Seeley Lake Baptist Church. Typically the non-profit that raises money for cancer research has students bike from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska, but due to COVID-19 students adapted by returning to Texas from Glacier National Park. City Manager’s Report: Kilgore College pedestrian bridge railings going to mountain bike trail

This week’s highlight involves creative recycling and illustrates how great it is to live in a community like Kilgore where it’s easy to make good things happen. This week, city staff assisted Kilgore College by beginning demolition of some of the handrails on spiral walkways from the old pedestrian bridge.

Mountain Bike Trail opens in Midland

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – Biking enthusiasts, listen up! Riders now have a new trail to enjoy in Midland.
The lush site, located on FM 307 just before I-20, has two trails: A beginner and an intermediate course.
Members of the Permian Basin Bicycle Association say it’s a gorgeous spot for bikers, whether they’re new or experienced.
“It’s unique. It’s a big green belt. The trails are nice and smooth, and it’s going to be fun for everybody,†said Stephen Mitchell, the Mountain Bike Director for PBBA.
