New Combination of Streets Bike Ride Puts Week Over 200 Miles
With all of the rain this week I needed 30 miles for a 200 mile week. Scratching my head for a different route I put together a bunch of streets I don’t think I biked before in this combination. I wanted to stay west of Lake Houston too. The route name attempts to cover the area I biked in, “Kingwood – Eagle Springs – Walden – Atascocita”. At the start I wasn’t sure this route would produce the necessary miles but I ended up biking 33.11 miles. Below is a summary of this week’s bike rides. Seven weeks in a row of 200+ miles. The maintenance on Tuesday was when I waxed the chain on my Canyon Endurace bike.

Today I rode my Lynskey R300 bike. It now has 4,650 miles on it. July totals 341.48 miles, 43% of my 800 mile goal. Below shows year progressions YTD miles comparing 2011 to 2021. I trail 2020 by 163 miles, the same as yesterday.

I expected the weather to be hotter than it was. Mostly cloudy skies must’ve kept the heat at bay. Weather conditions summary: start 81 (75% humidity, 72 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind N 8 mph; finish 84 (78% humidity, 76.9 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind SE 4 mph.
