Herbert Standley "Stan" Webb, Jr., of Cleveland, Texas, passed Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. He was born on May 31, 1971, to Maxine Ezell and Herbert Stanley Webb of Houston, Texas.
A lifelong musician, Stan’s passion for music started with the violin in an after-school strings program in 1981. He continued to play the violin during his school years into college at Sam Houston State University, and afterward with the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. Along with his musical talents, Stan had a lifelong devotion to dancing and singing. His knowledge and skills in technology served him well in his career in the corporate world and with his consulting company while feeding his interests in all things video gaming that started in his childhood. Stan’s enthusiasm for bicycling began in 1990 with his very first BP MS150 ride from Houston to Austin; as an active member of the local bicycling community, he completed more than 50 Bike MS rides. Alkek Velodrome Weekly Update

Track Racing We had a stellar Atomic TT, results are here! Some standout moments for me were the seeing new riders out doing their first races, the track records broken (Jen 500m Elite, Andy 500m Elite, Roberto Kilo 35+). Andy beat Koh’s 2019 record, Jen to Gill’s 1997 record and Roberto to the record of multiple masters world champion and Olympic gold medalist Al Whaley!
Seeing so many juniors out was great, Fury and Selectri we strongly represented along with many of our WK1 YCL graduates including 7 year old Ryan Kegel! This is a testament to the amazing work done by Carl, Katie, Austin, Sebastian and the rest of the coaching team.
Our next races are as follows: FNR – June 25th 7pm (Snowball, Miss n Out, Points) MNS – June 28th 7pm (The moto is back so Keirin’s are go!) Atomic TT – July 3rd 8am
XCC Short Track MTB We had an great opening night with some hard riding! Frank Musil and Alison Sunderhaft took the two open race wins. Lot’s of fun was had by all and thank you to Karbach for supporting us with the beer!

86 participants turned out Saturday evening as we 'sampled the city' for air quality in 5th Ward. Attendees heard directly from residents at various stops along the 2 & 8 mile bike tours, including regarding the cancer cluster impacts of the creosote plume in their neighborhood. pic.twitter.com/rqy75JmuTF

Salsa is in the shop so pulled out the old fixed gear which still needs it’s ridiculous handlebars sawed down and a creaky drive chain. Fun commute still, even if I did crash after catching the bars on a tight turn. pic.twitter.com/8eCo0c0Thj
