Stable But Windy Weather; Atascocita – Walden – FM 2100 Bike Ride
Much more stable weather conditions for today’s bike ride. After watching two bike races from Spain I got ready to bike. After yesterday’s drenching I looked forward to a dry if humid bike ride. I chose the “Atascocita – Walden – FM 2100” route and headed off at 11:41 AM riding the Lynskey R300. I hoped a change in bike would compliment a change in the weather. This was the 6th time biking this route in 2021, 3 times on each bike.
This ride covered 33.69 miles moving the total for the week to 51.72 miles. With all of the rain in the forecast I don’t think this will be a 200 mile week. My goal for May is 660 miles and I am at 533.31 miles so far. I’m losing ground YTD in 2021 to YTD 2020 by 93 miles. The bike ride ended at 2:20 PM.
The wind got stronger after I started the bike ride. I worked hard getting to FM 2100 into the headwind but enjoyed a tailwind most of the time returning to Kingwood. Conditions: start 78 (84% humidity, 72.8 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind E 13 mph; finish 78 (74% humidity, 69.2 dew point), overcast, wind SE 20 mph. Wednesday forecast calls for a lot of rain which means biking may not happen. The weather at the end of the bike ride. 20 mph wind is not bicycling friendly.
