Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman Bike Ride
Headed south and east on the bike ride on my “Atascocita South – Walden – Huffman” route for the third time in 2021. My Canyon Endurace rolled off at 11:39 AM and finished at 2:21 PM. During that time I rode 35.32 miles, consistent with the previous rides on this route. Now the week totals 149.02 miles setting up the potential for a 200 mile week. 2021 YTD now trails 2020 by 60 miles. At least I’m not falling farther behind. I’m getting closer to my 660 mile goal for May with 426.26 miles so far.
Before starting I watched the Giro d’Italia race and the Tour of Hungary race. The Giro had some strong wind at the top of one of the climbs.
It warmed up into the low 70’s for the bike ride letting me dress different from yesterday. I wore shorts, a long sleeve jersey, and a short sleeve jersey. At times I felt cool when the wind kicked and I was in the shade. What the weather did: start 74 (67% humidity, 62.2 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind N 9 mph; 75 (61% humidity, 60.8 dew point), overcast, wind NE 16 mph. Riding east over Lake Houston exposed me to the hardest wind and the return was the easiest with a nice almost tailwind. Tomorrow the weather should get closer to the normal conditions.
