Houston BCycle serves 1M riders 6 months earlier than expected, thanks to the pandemic

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Whether you’re riding to work, getting some exercise or just enjoying being outdoors, more and more Houstonians have been biking during the pandemic, and Houston BCycle has the stats to prove it.
In 2020, BCycle saw an increase of 50,000 rides over the previous year.
The bike share says it reached its 1 millionth rider six months earlier than expected.

Tuesday March 23, 2021 The bike box was in the lobby when I arrived at the hotel early this morning. I carried to my room before I went to sleep.
After I got up, started unboxing my bike. Only a couple of minor issues. Both tail lights came apart during the shipment. Some how I could only find three of the 4 AAA batteries in the box. Some how one AAA battery found it’s way out of the box. The box had 4 hand holds. Lesson learned: next time remove the tail lights and put them in a small box. Day -1 – Tucson to Del Rio train ride: 15 Hours on the Sunset Limited
Monday March 22, 2021 My bike was shipped last Wednesday, March 17th. It arrived at the hotel in Del Rio this morning before I got on the train. The Sunset Limited arrived an hour late in Tucson.
