HARLINGEN — Residents here are getting ready to grab a bike for a new kind of trip.
Across much of the world, bike sharing offers millions a healthy way to get around.
After about four years of planning, the city is launching its new bike-sharing program as part of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council’s RGV B-Cycle project’s plan to connect the region.

Judson’s legendary former football coach D.W. Rutledge is in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained from a bicycling accident on Friday.
According to a post on the Texas High School Coaches Association’s website, Rutledge was placed intensive care after suffering a broken vertebrae, 10 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a cracked sternum and internal bleeding.

Line up time was 0830; even so it was a chilly 47 as I recall.
Chilly forecast did not deter the cyclists, and a good number of riders showed for the tour.
I forgot how many layers of clothing Christine had, but she wasn’t complaining of the chill…yet.
