Prompt Bike Ride to E. Lake Houston Parkway Fit The Window
For a week day I started today’s bike ride earlier than usual at 10:12 AM. I could’ve pushed that up a half hour earlier if the temperature cooperated by getting into the 70’s. I had a shorter time window to ride today also prompting me to leave earlier. I chose the “Atascocita – Walden – E Lake Houston Parkway” route and rode 29.38 miles on my Canyon Endurace bike. I finished the ride at 12:25 PM getting me back in time for my other commitment. I even watched stage 10 of the Giro d’Italia before leaving.
This was the 5th time riding this route in 2020, all on my Canyon Endurace bike. Coincidentally I rode the same route last year on this date. Considering the low number of times I ride this route that is unexpected. This year’s ride was slightly longer.
Where I am at on my goal for October. 11 bike rides out of 13 days puts me ahead of the pace to reach 615 miles, averaging 28.73 miles per day including the 2 missed days.
Fall weather is back after yesterday’s warmer offering. Weather conditions during the ride today: start 76 (66% humidity, 63.5 dew point), a few clouds, wind NE 9 mph. Finish 84 (61% humidity, 69.1 dew point), fair, wind E 6 mph. When I got dressed for the ride the temperature was in the low 70’s causing me to wear a long sleeve jersey and a short sleeve jersey. That was okay as the temperature increased during the ride.
