Stalled Cold Front, Better With New Computer
As predicted the approaching cold front stalled to the west of Houston but it still affected the Houston area. When I began today’s bike ride at 11:11 AM it was 84 degrees. Not a cold front but several degrees lower than earlier in the week. I still perspired a lot during the bike ride. I rode my Canyon Endurace bike on the “Atascocita – Walden – Huffman” route for a total of 34.25 miles. This boosted my week total to 145.24 miles leaving 55 miles to reach 200 for the week.
I felt much better using the new Lezyne Macro Plus bike computer today. After rolling out of the driveway it started recording the ride without me pushing any buttons (I set it for auto start). Changing the 2nd screen showed the averages the first screen didn’t have room for. When I stop it takes about 10 seconds for the computer to flash “paused” on the screen but when starting back up it takes 2 to 3 seconds to show “resuming”. I thought I enabled “Lezyne Tracking” but after the ride I learned that the enable button wasn’t clicked. Work flow after the ride is different from using a Wahoo Bolt computer but not difficult. Lezyne doesn’t auto upload to as many of the websites as the Bolt.
Weather: start 84 (84% humidity, 78.3 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind NW 8 mph. Finish 91 (71% humidity, 80.3 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind N 10 mph. I still use the CamelBak for water and the cold water taste good.
Monthly goal status.
At this point I am 3 days ahead of schedule with only 1 day not biking.
