September is Commute Solutions Month! All month long, we’ll be celebrating with contests and drawings, webinars, and other fun virtual activities showcasing how small changes in your daily commute to work or school can make a big impact and a more sustainable region. Here’s a preview of what to expect:
Week 1 – Kick-off
Week 2 – Make Your Commute Count Learn which changes to your commute can make the most difference by trying our new Make Your Commute Count interactive calculator.
Week 3 – Education Week Join us for a series of webinars covering informative topics such as managing work-life balance while teleworking, and commute solutions for solo drivers.
Week 4 – Bike Anywhere Week Commute Solutions will recognize our region’s cycling commuters and provide tips on bike safety. Our partner, Houston BCycle, will offer free rides on Sept. 22, 2020. …

AUSTIN (KXAN) — “She was just like, ‘Get a mohawk. I’ll approve a mohawk for a week.’ And I’m like, ‘why not?’“
Local cyclist Gene Vergara’s boss came up with the idea. He’ll style it when he reaches $1,000 in donations. Currently, his shaggy hair provides a little extra padding underneath his bike helmet, but it’s not conducive to a Texas summer.
