Hot, Dry, Video Camera Failure, May Community Center On Canyon Endurace
Today’s bike ride followed the “May Park Community Center – Huffman” route. I set off on the Canyon Endurace bike at 10:52 AM and finished at 2:09 PM after biking 41.8 miles. This was the second time biking this route in 2020. Both times I rode the Canyon Endurace bike. This moves the week’s total to 83.44 miles and June to 526.61 miles, 66% of the way to my June goal.
The weather is getting into the summer mode with heat and dryness. I wisely used the CamelBak for my water supply which kept it cold until the finish. Weather while I biked: start 91 (62% humidity, 76 dew point), a few clouds, wind SE 4 mph. Finish 94 (46% humidity, 70.5 dew point), partly cloudy, wind E 13 mph. The arm sleeves kept me comfortable while providing sun protection.
No video from today’s bike ride. I used the Akaso camera but the video was usable. The sound was weak even using the microphone. The image vibrated from no image stabilization. I thought I understood how to use the control buttons but I turned recording on when I thought I turned it off resulting in one clip of 22 minutes which drained the battery. When I changed the battery the time and date went to the default causing the clips to not download in the correct sequence. The GoPro Hero7 black runs circles around this camera as it it should considering the price. I will return the Akaso camera and mic. I did capture these pictures from the video.
I don’t bike in Liberty County often but today’s route had a 200 yard loop past the county line sign and then back into Harris County. May Community Center is closed. I used to stop there to get ice but not today. The CamelBak saved the day with cold water.
