Hot Footing It Back From Roman Forest
Starting a new week after a day off the bike yesterday. I managed to start today’s bike ride at 10:23 AM riding the Lynskey R300. I chose the “New Caney – Roman Forest – Valley Ranch” route. Today the route covered 41.63 miles pushing my June total to 484.81 miles or 61% of the way to my 800 mile goal. This was the 4th time riding this route in 2020 evenly split between the Lynskey R300 and the Canyon Endurace bikes. Today’s distance was around the average for the 4 rides.
Last week’s weather was superb for biking and today kind of held that theme but the blue sky is now sharing its real estate with some clouds. Weather during the bike ride: start 90 (66% humidity, 77.1 dew point), partly cloudy, wind E 5 mph. Finish 92 (58% humidity, 75.5 dew point), partly cloudy, wind E 10 mph. I wore the CamelBak and enjoyed cold water during the ride up to the 1:44 PM finish.
I don’t usually encounter “hot foot” during a ride but today my right foot suffered that malady. When I ride the Lynskey I wear a pair of Shimano shoes which fit tighter than the Sidi shoes I use biking on the Canyon Endurace. The pedals are different on the bikes and require different cleats.
The new Akaso V50X camera arrived while I was biking. I will check it out and plan on using it on tomorrow’s ride.
