When Its Hot The GoPro Is Not, 200+ Mile Week, Can You Hear Me Now?
Sundays’ are when I start bike rides after church and today I rolled out at 1:56 PM and finished at 3:44 PM. I rode the Lynskey R300 bike on the “Kingwood Streets” route for 21.78 miles. The week finished with 232.86 miles, the most miles in a week since the week beginning April 20th. June also totals 232.86 miles, 29% of the way to my 800 mile goal. Today marks the 7th time I rode this route in 2020.
A summary of this week’s bike rides.
With the late start the temperature was 92 with a stiff northerly wind. I wore arm sleeves for sun protection and also their cooling effect. To go along with them I wore a short sleeve jersey and bike shorts. Weather during the ride: start 91 (58% humidity, 74.5 dew point), a few clouds, wind N 17 mph. Finish 92 (60% humidity, 76.2 dew point), partly cloudy, wind NE 16 mph. Pedaling into the headwind was hard but the wind helped cool me off.
Today was the first time to use the new GoPro mic adapter frame on the Lynskey R300 bike. During the bike ride the GoPro froze twice, maybe due to the heat. Each time I pulled the battery out and that fix it. The frame vibrates back when I ride on rough roads, just like on the Canyon Endurace. How it looks on the Lynskey R300.
Sound issues continue with the mic apparently cutting out when the road is rough. Maybe the mic plug into the jack is loose? Searching for perfection is hard. I would do more clips off the bike if the mic could pick up my voice. A wireless mic might solve that problem but it is more money.
