Bonking While Carrying Apple Fritters
How would I know carrying two apple fritters from Pat’s Donuts to home would contribute to a bonk and tired legs. It all began at 10:29 AM as I began the bike ride on the “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route. 35.85 miles later I slowly finished the bike ride at 1:29 PM out of energy. May I should’ve ate one of those apple fritters before I finished.
So far this year I biked this route 10 times. Today I rode my Lynskey R300 bike for the third time on this route with the Canyon Endurace accounting for the other 7 times. A summary of those rides.
The weather changed slightly from Monday and Tuesday with more clouds but not any cooler. I wore shorts and a short sleeve jersey with a healthy dose of spray on sunscreen. Wind was light and not a major factor until I ran out of energy as I entered Kings Manor towards the end of the ride. Weather while I biked: start 84 (79% humidity, 77.0 dew point), partly cloudy, wind W 7 mph. Finish 92 (60% humidity, 75.7 dew point), partly cloudy, wind S 8 mph.
Today’s video highlights include lots of red roses and Pat’s Donuts. Compressing the ride into 2:44 was a lot shorter than the 2:37:50 it took to bike it.
Normally I include the Strava activity embed here but with the recent changes to non-subscribers when I go to my activities to get the code it says “too many requests”. Update: Strava recovered.
Maybe RideWithGPS and SportTracks will be better.
I did manage to get a screenshot before Strava closed me off of the Year Progressions Overview comparing year to date for years 2011 to 2020.
