College Station Tx to Shepard Tx: Is this the last day in Texas?
Tuesday March 10, 2020, 94 miles (151 km) – Total so far: 1,594 miles (2,565 km) After the last few days, I was so ready to be out of Texas. Today though, I was treated to amazing roads and views as I rode through Sam Houston National Forest. What a change scenery! Great roads and beautiful weather always help too. Ended the day in Shepard but slept in Cleveland for the night

At the end of February I had the opportunity to provide a Highland Village update at the annual State of the City luncheon. This is a joint event with the Highland Village Business Association, the Flower Mound and Lewisville Area Chambers of Commerce. I’d like to provide you the information I presented. …
… Our police department continues their presence in our schools developing relationships and teaching our youth about relationships, rapport, respect, and fairness. This program has such a positive impact on our kids. The community has partnered with us for the last 12 years to help raise funds for the families of fallen police officers. Our department holds the TXFallenPD Tribute event the third Saturday in October which includes a 5K run/walk, a citizen bike race, a police bike race, a police obstacle course, touch a truck, vendors, a kids zone and live music all at The Shops at Highland Village. Last year we were able to donate $60,000 to the Fallen Officer Fund thanks to our generous and caring community. …

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department wants to ensure the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail remains a natural sanctuary for everyone as Austin’s population continues to grow.
To do that, the department has partnered with The Trail Foundation and the Austin Public Works Urban Trails Program for a safety and mobility study. …
