Zwifting Around Richmond VA in Reverse Halfway
Technology is great when it works. For some reason today my Wahoo Tickr Fit heart rate monitor wouldn’t pair with the Zwift companion app on my phone. Of course I didn’t find this out until the start of the ride as the countdown clock went to zero. Standing at the start line as 311 other Zwifters rode away I attempted to get the Tickr to connect. After numerous attempts I switched to using my computer and it found the Tickr almost immediately. By then the Pack was in the distance. For the second Zwift ride in a row I stopped about halfway through the ride at 10.76 miles out of the planned 20.5 miles.
As I rode the course around Richmond in the reverse of the UCI Worlds direction my w/kg continued to not equal the levels of rides before I did the spin down calibration several days ago. Looking at the speed and watts I am beginning to think they are correct and the output before the calibration was wrong. My speed and watts mirror when I ride on the road so maybe there isn’t a problem with the smart trainer. I think I will change the percentage setting in Zwift and see what that does. In the Wahoo Utility app I enabled ERG Mode and in Zwift I set the power to Max. This will probably kill my legs tomorrow. I will try a test ride before joining a group ride.
