Some Rarely Biked Streets Under A Blue Sky
Before getting ready to ride today I mulled over some potential routes and decided to ride Kingwood streets including some I rarely or never ride. The route totaled 18.17 miles, 48% of my 150 mile goal for December.
Starting late at 12:58 PM the weather cleared the sky to a nice blue after the front passed through earlier this morning. Not in a hurry I took my time getting ready. Weather during the ride around Kingwood: start 72 (55% humidity, 54.8 dew point), fair, wind W 9 mph. Finish 72 (56% humidity, 55.5 dew point), fair, wind NW 14 mph. To counter the strong wind I wore shorts, long sleeve thermal jersey, and a jacket. When I rode north the headwind required extra effort even among the houses and trees.
In the video I point out the streets that I rarely or never ride on. Since my last bike ride through the Royal Brook Village in Kingwood many new streets and houses sprang up. Country Colony is an older neighborhood but east of the older section new streets and homes exist.
Yesterday my FitBit Versa 2 smartwatch arrived. I am learning about the features and biking is one of them but after the ride I saw that I needed to start it to track the ride. Maybe the next ride I will have learned more about the Versa 2.
Saturday’ weather looks to repeat today with a slightly lower temperature in the upper 60’s. I have some other things calling for my attention in the college football space so Zwifting may be my bike ride activity.
