Lots of German on Zwift Riders Germany Social Ride (D)
I picked today’s ride because of the start time and then realized when I got ready to begin it was 90 minutes and German was the language from the leaders most of the time. (I do not speak or read German) My solution: ride near the back most of the ride. On Fuego Flat I was 176 out of 179 and other times 210 out of 213.
Not a problem because outside the temperature settled in the mid 50’s, below my outdoor biking threshold of 60 degrees. Indoors I wore shorts and a T-shirt with the ceiling fan and floor fan on. By the end of the hour and a half ride the shirt was wet from sweat.
This was the longest distance ride on Zwift and the longest time riding on one ride. The long ride made me decide to not record it and take pictures periodically.
I wasn’t sure how my legs and butt would handle the longer ride time since standing up is not as easy as outdoors. I think I did okay with my legs still pedaling strong and my butt not hurting.
In Zwift rides focus on the watts per Kg and I did not notice where that showed up until today when I saw it in my blue block on the ride side of the screen which shows my position and the riders nearby. Now I know where to look when the leaders call out for a particular w/Kg effort like on a hill. Before I calculate this in my head and come up with a rough number. No need to do that now that I know where it is.
Where I stand on my goals for November:
- road miles: 205.9 miles towards a 360 mile goal
- virtual miles (Zwift): 152.2 miles exceeding a 100 mile goal
- virtual miles YTD: 316.2 miles towards a 400 mile goal
- miles rode in November 358.13 towards a 460 mile goal (road + virtual)
- I rode each day in November either outdoors or indoors
- I rode every day since October 19th through November 15th
Saturday the temperature might reach the lower 60’s. Sunday it may reach the mid to upper 60’s. Depending on when that happens will determine if ride outdoors or indoors.
