Zwift 3x13min Climb Workout Keeps Me Out of the Rain
Fortunately I moved slowly this morning before biking because rain moved in about the time I usually go on the bike ride. This meant virtual riding today on Zwift.
Before choosing an event in Zwift I spent some time checking out Rouvy.com, an alternative to Zwift. I uploaded the GPS files for two rides from my past and Rouvy made them available as routes for me and others to ride. My free subscription time expired which required me to pay so I decided to use Zwift for now.
By delaying my event choice on Zwift I missed a group ride I preferred and selected the Zwift 3x13min Climb Workout mostly because of the starting time. Friday I will check the event schedule earlier. This workout repeated the same wattage buildup three times and everyone stayed together unless you stopped. I managed to hand with group in 55 out of 95 riders for the workout. I took these screenshots during the workout.
As you can see a group surrounded me most of the time. The big black number in the top middle of the screen denotes the watts I was at. The blue/black/blue/black numbers above the watts show my speed, miles, feet climbed, and elapsed time. To the left of the black watts number is the target watts and the time period of the segment. To the right of the watts are heart rate (top) and cadence (bottom).
My legs knew they put out a lot of energy when the workout finished. The Wahoo Kickr Snap smart trainer increased and decreased the effort based on the instructions from Zwift.
Friday will be another Zwifting day based on the weather forecast.
