Rare Venture Into Liberty County Bike Ride
I started today’s bike ride at 11:20 AM after messing around with the Tablo DVR and other computer stuff. I also delayed waiting for the weather to warm up slightly which it happened quicker than I thought. Earlier I watched the Milano-Torino bike race on Flobikes.com. Michael Woods with EF Education First won the race going up a steep hill at the end.
No steep hills on my route today. The “May Park Community Center – Huffman” route contains no hills which caused a problem for some people during the heavy rain on September 19th flooding FM 1960 east of Huffman.
I rode 41.24 miles improving the week’s total to 111.76 miles and October to 288.71 miles leaving 411.3 miles to reach my goal. With 6,590 miles YTD I only need 210 miles to reach my goal for 2019.
When I stopped at the May Community Center I ate a snack before going inside for ice and water. The center helps people who suffered flooding and several were there talking to helpers.
Relive shows the route with highs marked.
Relive ‘Rare Venture Into Liberty County’
Seeing two other bikers at FM 2100 came unexpectedly but I caught them on the ride video along with some other highlights.
Weather while I rode into Liberty County: start 85 (68% humidity, 73.1 dew point), a few clouds, wind SE 6 mph. Finish 87 (65% humidity, 73.7 dew point), mostly cloudy, wind SW 7 mph. While the summer heat let up some due to a cool 63 degrees around sunrise it perked up by the time I got on the road.
