Efforts continue to transform an unused rail corridor which runs through Northeast Texas, including Hunt County, into pedestrian, bicycle and equestrian trails.
The Northeast Texas Trail, or NETT, is in the process of being established across 130 miles, stretching through seven counties and 19 small towns between Farmersville and New Boston. It is the fifth longest trail in America and the longest in Texas.

It’s that time of year again, and the ride you’ve been waiting for is coming … the 37th Annual Full Moon Cruze bike ride!
This year, the ride will happen on Saturday night/Sunday morning, September 14/15th, 2019. Assemble at about 1:30 am at the James D. Pfluger Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge and we’ll ride out at about 2:15 am to 2:30 am.
DO NOT BE CONFUSED BY THE DATE! This ride happens on Saturday night/Sunday morning, the night of the 14nd and/or the morning of the 15th! Set an alarm so you don’t forget, take a nap, charge those lights, etc.!

GAINESVILLE, Tex. A Gainesville man completed a 168-mile bike race last weekend, and he used a prosthetic leg that he built himself to do it.
"I didn’t believe I could ever ride a bicycle again, after I lost my leg seven years ago, the doctors and the prosthetists I was working with all said ‘you’ll never ride a bicycle again just give it up’," cyclist Aaron Smith said.
