HOUSTON — A cyclist is suing an energy company, alleging he was struck by a low-hanging wire.
Lyle Orndorff filed a complaint July 12 in the Harris County District Court against CenterPoint Energy Inc., alleging negligence.

A cyclist died Monday night after he was reported to have been struck by a train, Denton police say.
A 911 caller reported that a bicyclist had been hit by a train about 7:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of Brinker Road, near South Interstate 35 and Colorado Boulevard, police said.

Council adopts new bicycle, master plan with prioritized projects for Lubbock

The Lubbock City Council adopted an updated Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan on Tuesday.
The approved plan for pedestrian and bicycle transportation is the first of its kind for Lubbock in over 20 years. As this new plan states, the quality of the current pedestrian network is poor, and there’s a strong cultural push toward bicycle facilities and improved pedestrian experiences.
Council members discussed the plan during a work session Tuesday afternoon, and voted unanimously to adopt it at the evening meeting. The city describes the new plan as a guide for future policy and construction. New construction will …
