New 20-acre bike park in north Houston sets opening date

When Houston was selected to host the 2020 UCI BMX World Championships in 2016, it was seen as opportunity for the city to earn international recognition in the world of extreme sports. The only trouble was that the facility where the BMX Championship would be held didn’t yet exist.

Bicycle-shaped bottle openers are available for volunteers Wednesday who turned out to build a 300-foot long granite trail at the new Tito Bradshaw Bicycle Shop on the UTSA Main Campus. Bradshaw was a well-known San Antonio cyclist who died last spring after being struck by a car while riding his bike.
