Yellow Wildflowers and Some Clouds Bike Ride
Another nice day for a bike ride with some clouds. I chose the “New Caney – Tavola – Valley Ranch” route and wheels started rolling at 10:42 AM, a little earlier than usual due to an afternoon appointment. Biking 34.33 miles improved May total to 376.87 miles, 57% of my 660 mile goal.
Weather during the bike ride: start 81 (63% humidity), partly cloudy, wind SE 8 mph. Finish 86 (54% humidity), partly cloudy, wind S 7 mph. Wind was not much of issue and my average speed reflected that. I built it up to 14.5 mph and held it there until I rode almost back to Kingwood Drive. I wore a warm weather kit: shorts, short sleeve jersey, and arm sleeves. Weather at the finish.
On the way back to Kingwood I stopped in Valley Ranch and took these photos of the wildflowers.
Plenty of blue sky but clouds arrived. Today’s stage of Giro d’Italia wasn’t as fortunate with heavy rain and cold. They shortened the time line but not the kilometers.
While I rode through Oakhurst on one street several houses must have had water damage from the recent rains. They had dumpster bins in the driveways and workers removing stuff.
Good biking weather continues on Thursday.
