Council to consider tax abatement, hike and bike trail plan

Tyler City Council will consider offering a four-year tax abatement to a company that plans to build a $5 million headquarters here. …

Track And Field Athletes Compete, Serve At Mesquite Senior Games

Track and field sporting events came to the Mesquite Senior Games last week bringing seniors from all over the region to compete at the Virgin Valley High School field. Each year, during the spring season, Mesquite hosts the annual sporting event for seniors. The Mesquite Senior Games started in 2002, with eight different events. Over the years, the games have grown. Additional events have been added and more and more participants come every year. …

The Woodlands Township did not win sufficient support for its Safe Routes to School project from the Houston-Galveston Area Council this year to secure certain funding, and it was also foiled from pursuing grants from the Texas Department of Transportation, township Assistant General Manager John Powers told the board of directors at its March 27 meeting.
