Texas remains among worst states for pedestrian deaths in new report

Texas and Houston, despite greater focus on road safety, continue to trail other places in curbing pedestrian deaths, a new estimate of 2018 deaths found.
In the first six months of 2018, 298 Texas pedestrians died on or along roadways, the Governors Highway Safety Association said in its report, released Thursday. The death count was 32 higher than for the first six months of 2017, tying Georgia for the largest increase in pedestrian fatalities. …

Weatherford City Council Tuesday night approved a resolution to nominate the Town Creek Hike and Bike Trail Phase III project for funding via the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
