Homeless man hit by truck West Side while riding bike in middle of the street

SAN ANTONIO – A homeless man was riding on Culebra in the city’s West Side when a truck hit him, according to San Antonio police.
Officials tell us the man was riding his bike in the middle of the road when he was struck.
The driver did stop and a witness in a car also stopped to help.
The man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.

SAN ANTONIO — Local cyclists are pushing for change to make major city roads safer for riders.
Vision San Antonio reported earlier this week that the number of deadly bicycle crashes doubled in 2018.
Organizers with Bike San Antonio have been going door to door collecting support for a petition requesting to add protected bike lanes on Broadway Street between Hildebrand and Houston.
