An avid cyclist, Kenneth Spence was a familiar sight in the area, riding his bike throughout the area.
When the 47 year old got on his bicycle on Jan. 4, little did he know it would be for the last time. Around 4 p.m. that day, as he rode northbound on the Texas 6 feeder road near the Peach Creek Cutoff, Spence was struck from behind by a car whose driver who said he was blinded by the sun. He died at a local hospital a few hours later. …
Commissioner hosts community bike ride
